I'm trying to find an old article, may have been from the 90s. It was in Car Craft and was all about big inch big block Chevys.
The specific article was one of a series of four or five different engines, and was about a 496 that I think John Lingenfelter made as a tow vehicle engine. It wasn't a high powered screamer, may have even used oval port heads, but the goal was a broad and fat torque curve everywhere on the tach from idle to wherever.
27 minutes! Yes that's it!
I'm specifically looking for the whole series of articles. Which issue was that?
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
I found it Here. I didn't want to dig further until I confirmed it was the correct one

Now find the Car Craft Cartoons episode of Krass & Bernie where I think Bernie builds an electric car and gives Krass the ride of his life and at the end, Bernie shows Krass how he accomplished such a feat, walking to the back of the car where a supercharged engine is sticking sideways out of the trunk hooked up to a generator. From at least 30 years ago I think.
