This looks to be bigger than a chicken coup for sure.
I think if people stay inside, they'll be alright. What may be bad is if pro-Ergodan supporters try to engage the military.

Time to bring the van inside for a while.
So, while it seems like the current leadership in Turkey leans a little more to the scumbag side of things, has any coup ever actually worked out for the long term betterment of the people? Like, ever? I just can't imagine being in a situation where I'm thinking "Hey, those guys that took over the government by military force, they seem WAAAAY more reasonable and responsible than our current guys."
Seems like a coup is just another way to replace one set of a-holes with another set of a-holes (sort of like our elections).
Why do chicken coupes have two doors?
Because if they had four they'd be a chicken sedan!!!!
Thank you, thank you, tip your servers.
Looks like the coup-ay thing was likely staged. Or at least massively taken advantage of. First thing post coup is he whacks 2745 judges. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-07-16/erdogans-counter-coup-begins-turkey-purges-2745-judges-prosecutors-arrests-hundreds
In reply to Dr. Hess:
It's going to get ugly there now, very ugly. A power vacuum has been created, leadership is now purging the military in a nation that shares a border with Syria and has already been the target of several major Isis attacks. The purging of the military practical makes the entire developed country a soft target.

I'm pretty sure Fiji has one of those deli take-a-number things if you want to stage a coup.

England's Glorious Revolution of 1688 meets your criteria. Gave more power to parliament at the expense of the monarchy.
Edit: and of course the American Revolution wouldn't have gone far without the Continental Army to give the Declaration of Independence teeth.

Kind of like a BMW 6 series?
A false coupé
I used to have a co-worker who spent a lot of time in Turkey while serving in the Air Force in the eighties. He said the amount of public corruption was mind boggling. He eventually stopped going off base unless it was absolutely necessary, due to how many times base personnel had been shaken down by local authorities. They (the Turkish police) had gone so far as to basically kidnap airmen and hold them for ransom on absurd false charges.

I should probably grab a ticket incase things here dont work out.
Strangely blamed on a guy living in rural Pennsylvania????
Weird and I think the potential of getting ugly.
In reply to JohnRW1621:
6,000+ arrested, warrants out on 2700 judges and a leader wanting a swift return to use of the death penalty, what could possibly go wrong?
Also a group has taken a government building in neighboring Armenia and are hoping to release a government oppositionist there. It's starting to look like the entire region has destabilized.
