So, my brother and I have been hosting a Turkey Fry for the past two years. This year, we got busy with life events and stuff and forgot to send invites on FB and Twitter out until a few days ago. It's a low key party with all the Thanksgiving fixings...deep fried turkey(s), stuffing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, salad, rolls, gravy, broccoli casserole, and of course beers!
We have no stipulations on who can or can't come and all are always welcome! The only thing we ask is that "no one fights, and everyone has to get along". We also let people crash at our place if they can't make it home. People are more than welcome to bring goods of food and drink, and its always great time! This way, we are all thankful and are able to enjoy the night with everyone and not have to worry about E36 M3 going down! Also, the whole next day is filled with dinners and feasts prepared by mothers, grammas, aunts, uncles, grampappys, and dads...aka, professionals! :)
Essentially, we provide a Thanksgiving appetizer, and an alternative to the noisy crowded bars!
Hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving, and if you're out tonight, be safe and don't get too silly to drive home!!
We're doing two turkeys this year too...both dry rubbed: one with a "general-spice" rub, and the smaller one with a more "cajun-spicy" rub on it!
No worries, the fridge has plenty of room for leftovers this year too! ;)
I've got a neighbor who is apparently bar-b-queing his turkey. We live in apartments and having to walk past his front porch where his grill is is sort of killing me. He started about 9 a.m. wednesday. I'm not a big fan of bar-b-ques, but the smell...it's heavenly, tho to be honest, it's mostly his sauce I smell, and not the turkey.

Your address is??
Sounds like a great thing that you have going, enjoy it and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
I love me a good fried turkey... although it seems to not be very good left over... on the other hand there always seems to be a lot less left over turkey when it is fried lol...
anyway sounds like fun... my dad n step mom are coming in tonight and i'm looking forward to that :) don't get to see them near enough being we're only 4hrs away
Don't you guys know fried foods are unhealthy? I prefer to oven roast my bird, but this is a good time of year to consider embracing vegetarianism and serving up a nice 20-lb. Tofurkey!

Great invite, but Cleveland? A bit too far from Ft. Lauderdale. We are going over to Wifey's son's house for the big day. He and his roommate really love to cook, so will be a great time. Jane has a special sweet potato pie to put together tonight, and will do a few more things in the morning. Me, I have work to do. Arrgghh.
