Well 2023 is gonna be an interesting season for NASCAR. Kyle Busch to the 8 Tyler Reddick to the 45 (my guess) Noah Gragson to the 42 Tony Stewart wants Cole Custer gone Kurt Busch retiring Seems like 2023 will be a pivotal year for NASCAR! But what do you think?

For the first time, in a long time, it seems like many of the NASCAR Cup Series teams are focused on pure talent. It's refreshing to see that.

Tyler Reddick has certainly showed the potential that RCR has.

- Will Kyle Busch further bring out the best in RCR or is he past his prime?

- Will Tyler Reddick continue his success at 23XI Racing? The team is well resourced and has good talent behind the scenes.

Noah Gragson

- He's kicked butt driving for A-list teams, but how will he fare with a B-list team?

Stewart-Haas Racing No. 41

- Custer's father is Co-President at Stewart-Haas. That's an interesting dilemma. Custer hasn't performed. He was just fined $100k for trying to manipulate the Chase, slowing down to allow his teammate to make the next round, which may provide further ammo to pushing Cole to the curb. It would be nice to see top-notch talent like Ryan Preece be in top-notch equipment.

Ty Dillon at Spire

- You'll probably see the same results for both.

JGR No. 18
- Who goes in this ride? That's a big question. Ty Gibbs? Do they have enough sponsorship for next year?

Add to the mix that Dodge turned down NASCAR to bring their charger into the series and that there are grumblings from the owners and some driver owners that they want more of the upcoming TV deal (that is something like 90 percent of the revenue at this point for the series) and this upcoming year could get real interesting.

Good point. I read somewhere that Hendrick Motorsports basically admitted that they have failed to turn a profit in recent years.

To put things in perspective, MLB teams barely make a profit, too, and they put their finances in the black mainly because of the TV deals they have.

The new talks revolving around the new NASCAR TV deal should be interesting, to say the least.

I wonder how the ongoing costs of running the Next Gen car will impact the negotiations.  I can see NASCAR claiming that they have saved the teams tons of money with the new car and should keep the existing television terms.  TV is all that matters right now, in terms of dollars.  Go to any race and see half filled stands but the races are "healthy" because of the TV money.
