Strangely, it appears to be somewhat well done. Which reminds me. Either the Taurus, or my Prizm needs a cherry bomb or something. They're way too quiet compared to the ms3.

Maybe, just maybe, it was an attempt to start a snow bound vehicle and get it warmed up in a snow bank?
The Juvenile Delinquent in me would dump a bunch of water in the tail pipe & listen for the water pipe effect :)

When I was about 14 and my uncle had foolishly left a "Hot Rod" comprised of a '48 Chrysler frame and a '46 Chrysler straight-8 engine (or was it the other way around) in my Dad's garage for safe keeping, a buddy and I rigged up a very similar high-stack exhaust system except that ours came out from under the car about even with the driver's shoulder. There was no body on the car so you had to watch the ingress/egress. The 90 degree bend at the frame level was accomplished with a radiator hose and clamps.
We ran it around for a good 20 minutes before the hose burned through. It was very, very cool.
