It's like Hello Kitty meets Slipknot.
It gets stuck in your head. I need to go clean my ears out with some Lamb of God.

Thank you for breaking my brain with Japanese pop metal made by teenage girls.
I'm more baffled how catchy it is.
I just showed this to some friends a couple days ago. I'm glad I don't know Japanese, I have a feeling those songs are much better not knowing what the hell they're singing about.
Well.
That was certainly different.
It says they wanted to be the only band in the world doing this, and yeah they probably are. i'm gonna clear my hearing with some Jethro Tull.
If they were holding instruments of any kind I'd probably have thought something other than "Hey look, some japanese schoolgirl ninja looking chicks are doing karaoke instead of squid porn".
This is New Kids on the Block for 13 year old boys (well... straight ones...).

Benefit? Songs From The Wood???
That was interesting.
I will now play the album Leviathan, in its entirety, as a show of penitence for sending the video to all my metal friends.
This one is kind of good...just needs the lead singer of OTEP or In This Moment.

(HELP! I can't stop watching this stuff! I think they're hypnotizing me!)

I am convinced that Bad Apple!! is a mashup of Metallica's Orion (chord progression and drum beat), Pantera's Domination (guitar riff), and a little bit of Slayer's Divine Intervention in the extended cut.
With some pretty freakin' metal lyrics laid on top of it.
Also, I was expecting this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__vv2EhpEK0
Or maybe this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WfoccRna6I
Or this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeaCOUw_Oi0
I however was not expecting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QFtgSwTveI or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2nLoh32CS0 or even http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIW37kUPkQA
I read an interview with Marty Friedman who basically lives in Japan now. He said loud, distorted guitars are more common in Japanese pop music than US listeners would be used to. So with that in mind, Baby Metal doesn't surprise me a bit. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he played on some of these recordings.
