Didn't understand why the whole family had to be involved with one kid's activities--she and her husband share/split kid activity duties. I don't have kids, so I hear "YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!!!" shouted down at me from the parental high horse.

my Mom didn't work outside the home ... my Dad worked 8 - 5 ... lab director at a TB Sanitarium ... I was the oldest of 5 (I was 13 when youngest brother was born and 15 when sis was born) .... little league BB was close enough (< 5 mi) for me to ride my bike .... + the games were often in the morning ... Babe Ruth BB another mile or two ... still rode my bike ... my next 2 brothers did the same ... Mom had no car, she couldn't just snatch up the infants and hoof it down to the ball park ... the lack of a little league parent yelling and screaming at the umps didn't seem to have stunted my growth ...

I've never been able to understand these parents that EVERYTHING revolves around the kids sports activities ... never made sense to me

but then I'm in the same boat as Gamby .. no kids

I don't make the plans in the first place if I know my kid is going to be a problem. If I make the plans and it's a possibility it will be an issue- I warn the host ahead of time "I may have my kid with me, is this cool". Gibson goes with me EVERYWHERE. He was at his first MNMazda meet at 6 days old. He'd actually be HOME for about 48 hours when we did that one. Not much has changed with that. I mean I get it, kids have E36 M3 to do- but come on people, planning ahead isn't really THAT hard.

As to the original post, if this is what you're writing on day 2 of the tour, I can't wait to see how the posts look next week.

Look for "Fully Engorged" on the Bag 'O Dicks. With the Protuberances brand, sometimes you can end up with a bag of fists.

New band name "Fist of Dicks."

On Thursday told my guys we'd be working Saturday. On Friday I realized I would need a little extra help on Sat, I asked of any of the guy's from the other crew if they would like some extra hours. Got one volunteer. Showed up at the shop expecting three guys And only one showed up. So Monday I get to do two no call-no show write ups because what should have been an easy 7.5-8 hour day turned into a pain in the ass 13hr day.

I left for work about 2pm yesterday, hoping for a nice, smooth shift to end the week on. Ended up getting home abit after 4:30 this morning.

I have 18 people working in my area, and knew going in I would be down five people due to previously-approved vacation days and a couple out on medical. Oh well, that's why we have temps.

Once I sorted thru all the call-offs, I had to notify my boss that I was short 12 people. Kinda hard to run my line with well over 50% absenteeism. We don't have THAT many temps!!! :-(

Just woke up, still exhausted. And my brain still hurts.

Kinda they both said they could use the extra hours, then don't show or call. I'm half tempted to send them home Monday. Can't work when I need you to? Guess who can't work today

There are guys at my work that bitch about not getting paid enough but are the first to ask to leave when we are slow.

possible new business opportunity: churches are all about helping (themselves) others, why not open a soup kitchen called "abiggabaggadix" where people can come in and get a cheap meal and listen to Brother Poop tell it like it should be?

So, official as of yesterday: Tour cancelled over some bullE36 M3...which means I now have to cancel the rehearsal space I'd booked for the end of the month, I had to call chick who re-arranged her schedule so she could run the shop for two weeks, and tell her I won't need her, and good luck trying to book a show in the towns we were supposed to be playing.

OR: Egg on my face from others' lack of planning/consideration. Angrypanda.

walmart is my go to place for feeling better about myself.

And I do understand the OP. I deal with this at work. Most of my co-workers are reliable, as in they will be there on time. I am one of the few who can get the work done fast and well, so I am high on the call list (5th person the boss calls when work is being given out) but it astounds me that people who have been in the business longer than me continue to do things the wrong way.

And then you can't tell them they did it wrong, they get all up set and yell that They know what they are doing and I don;t have to tell them how to do their job... guess it means that I have to continue to fix all the lamps they hung upside down.

And that is the thing, if you hang a Leko or a par upside down, the gel frame will fall out. On a Leko, the gobo holder and/or the iris will too.. this is bad when over a stage, but I keep finding these lights over the audiance. Yes, let's drop sharp edged metal things 50 feet onto the heads of the audiance, keep doing it, I want to move up to the 4th spot on the call list!

Kinda like how, this weekend, someone thought they needed the Miata transmission and half of a 3100 engine in the back of my car more than I did?

At least they were kind enough to re-lock my car. No signs of forced entry, the stuff was just gone.

I'm going to stop buying Miata transmissions. Every time I buy one, it gets stolen.
