Been there done that would do it again. I think I wore a suit and tie. Table service and everything!

I think Valentine's Day is the opportunity to make up for that crappy Christmas present.

I think they've been doing it for at least a decade, if not more.
On the topic of White Castle...I don't know if ithey sell them at all locations, but the one down the street from my house recently added sloppy joe sandwiches to their menu. They're pretty tasty. 
Our local McDonalds does that. You have to make reservations, it sells out every year.
If one of the first places you went with your SO when you were dating was White Castle or McDonald's, I can see the point.
Valentine's day is the last day before the start of dating season.

We went to the McDonald's last week in Taupo that's inside a DC airplane overlooking lake Taupo. I could see someone doing a valentine there
