Gentlemen; it's this Thursday - get out early to get those gifts. Score some points with your lady. Let's hear some romantic ideas.............
Me? I thought it would be a great idea to get married that day (anniversary #26).

Does that mean you have to buy two gifts? Like if her birthday was on Christmas?
My wife just picked out a new pair of hiking boots from Cabelas and told me my shopping was done. She did let me enter the card info
Now to finish it up with a novelty card. Maybe something with a pop up monkey wearing sunglasses saying "I go ape over you!"
Its my 30th Bday, so I will be pampering the wife..
She is teaching a late class on Thursday night, so we will celebrate Friday/Saturday.
Valentines? I made it clear to my wife on our very first date that I thought it was BS. Haven't had to celebrate once since.
Seems like these days, V-day is to relationships what Christmas is to Christianity. Just another excuse for the overlords to scream BUY MORE E36 M3!!
I'm lucky, though..I live with a woman who feels the same way about it. All I can give to y'all from my previous disast..uh, I mean 'relationships' is that if she's not a shallow person, some token that you've actually been listening to what she says would go further than just spewing cubic dollars. Box set of her favorite band's work (no matter how much they stink). The only book missing from her collection of her favorite author. "How To" tome about her new hobby.
Good luck guys, I'm cheering for ya..
EDIT: D310--congrats!!

I see "Sweetest Day" like that. A fake Hallmark Store day.....

Yeah, EXACTLY. I'm pretty sure Valentines Day is for that same reason. She doesn't like flowers and crap anyhow. She'd rather I save the cash and throw in on some new good work shoes because she's on her feet all day with her clients
surprise them. They may tell you that it is not necessary but you will get points if you do it. Doesnt have to be flowers. I go to a local chocolate shop and buy one of their items: the most popular has been a full size women's dress pump shoe. Always get good response from that one.
Legitimate dancin' shoes, because I like to take her out salsa dancing, and she would never buy something so impractical (suede-lined soles that shouldn't be worn off of the dancefloor... seriously) for herself.
I'm not usually into doing anything big for Valentine's day as I find spending quality time together is all I need.
I recently came home to find my gf watching Top Gear reruns because she "...want[ed] to learn more about cars"
She also loves riding shotgun at auto-x.
This year, we do something special lol.
I'm probably one of the few guys in this world who can get away with giving his wife a calorie counter/heart rate monitor watch and not get b!tch slapped for it. She has a fancy one (Polar) starting to go on the fritz, and it's pissing her off to no end. She'll be thrilled.
