the one good thing about driving sporty cars when you are older.. nobody expects a balding and graying guy to be driving like a hooligan in a car that obviously belongs to a kid
Amen, brother. I get pulled over a lot less than I did when I was young. And I'm not really driving any differently.
I'm seriously digging the lower insurance premiums, too!
there's one person on here in their 80's ... posts regularly .... I can't remember who...
here with our little a-x club we have an 81 yo that still runs our night series... often drives his son's built Evo... for his 80 b-d his son gave him a track day at VIR... he drove his Lincoln ...
In the four years i have owned my gray RX8 i have had no warnings or tickets (knock on wood). I have no explanation for this other that the fact that i have a humane society tag on the back which might throw some people off.
82 Z28 Camaro driven by a 25 year old guy at 135-140 kmph= lots of tickets. 02 Silver Accord driven by a 50 year old guy at 125-130 kmph= no tickets.
700 Volvo wagons are radar proof, especially with kids in the rear facing seats.
I remember one night when I was in high school I was going out to meet my friends and I was driving my 944 (bought it for $4000 I worked my butt off for) and I was getting followed for miles by the old Beaverton Police Corvette (was a seized vehicle) and I could see the guy constantly running my plates to see if it came up stolen.
Knowing he was there I kept my speed right on the limit and never a MPH over.
