Are those who are currently serving considered to be veterans?

A veteran is someone who served in the military and was discharged under honorable conditions.

This.

It's kinda funny. My birthday is today and I am a veteran. Also, the Marine Corps birthday was yesterday. It's like having a big birthday celebration. Except I just laid on my couch all weekend.

Same deal with a good buddy of mine, except I think that his birthday was yesterday. This guy was (is? do you ever stop being one) a Marine, and he has a mkiv supra, diesel jetta, and WS6 Firechicken.

"a person who has served in a military force, especially one who has fought in a war"
