Is VIR dog friendly? Planning to go in October and the GF wants to bring the dogs. Is this allowed?

Pets – VIR discourages bringing pets to the track. Pets will be allowed if they are leashed and cleaned up behind. Otherwise, VIR will locate the owner and both will be asked to leave. Do not take leashed pets onto False Grid or pit areas. Pets are also not allowed in any of VIR’s buildings or concession areas.

My question would be if it's a good idea for the dogs to be there with all the noise and hubbub going on.

I've seen plenty of folks out there with dogs. The dogs are leashed and very well behaved. I would bet VIR's tolerance for irresponsible dog owners would be very, very low.

I'd also think a live racetrack wouldn't be the best place for the pooches. Dogs have sensitive ears.......race cars have uncorked exhausts---- not such a good thing for Fido.

Yeah, I see people with dogs at Road Atlanta, but I'm not sure I'd subject my pooch to it.

Gertrude doesn't even like autocrosses.....she especially doesn't like the part where she's left behind and I make a run. (This reminds me of the time that Per brought the brown saab rally car to an MSCC event. He didn't even know me, but he was willing to hold Gertrude's leash so I could take my run. Good guy.)

Yeah. I figured it was less than desired. But I had to ask!
