Another trip to Chicago and another paid - for rental. This one is the Volvo C40 EV. It's interesting!

The first thing is you do a dance with the shifter to start it rather than a button, but it still has the spot where the button goes. Kind of lazy.
Ugh yes spend the extra 5 pesos and get rid of the key hole on non-key-start vehicles.

This is mostly the same thing as an XC40 only with more coupé-ness and less useful cargo area?
I think I'm curious about anything you notice and want to relate, any driving impressions, etc... I think the boxier sibling went on my wife's car shopping list earlier today.
The C40 doesn't really fit my needs, but as a Volvo/Polestar fan, color me interested.

Okay so far it's a pretty great car. The sunroof is really big, but it seems tinted enough not to be a bother. I like that I can set it up to be one pedal driving in the menu and it just stays there the whole time. I only touched the brake pedal twice so far.
This is Chicago, so I don't have a lot of free run, but it's super quick, just like all EVs these days. The cargo room is bigger than the bolt and about the same size as the Kia EV6 from last time. I don't love the exterior in the back, but everything inside of this car is very neat. It's hard to photograph, but there are black rubbery inserts in a few places, and they are cleverly lit from the edges so they appear almost three dimensional and multi-colored. I'll try to take a picture, but it's really neat you'll have to take my word for it.
I haven't looked, but for even money I would take the EV 6 over this. For even money I would probably take this over the a new bolt.

You could probably buy 2 base spec Bolts for the price of the Volvo:

Budget. Flat $35 fueling cost if it's empty.
That panel is all black.
