It turns out Craigslist itself can send you updates on specific search terms.
I had no freaking idea.

Here I've just been typing in "cub cadet deck" "local town name" "excursion" every day when I could just have it tell me when there's new stuff I'm actually interested in.
I think that's how I ended up finding the Volvo, 14 minutes after it had been listed.
But I'd pretty much forgotten about it since then.
I got all kinds of searches set up. How I got my to-35

I didn't know but I also haven't been on craigslist in literally three or four years.

As If Autotempest wasn't an awesome time suck. Thanks, you bastard.
Used that feature for years, back when CL wasn't 99.9% scams and spam.
There were also RSS feeds.....
Yep, been using it for a long time. Never thought I'd see the day when Craigslist is the reputable place because all the scammers have moved on to FB Marketplace.
Edit: You can also configure notifications within the app itself.
I've had an alert set for "GTA wheel" for about two years. About once every 5 months I get an email to a completely useless ad link that doesn't include any GTA wheels.
CL around here has been on life support for the last 4 years. 90% commercial ads, almost no individuals selling their own stuff. It's rare that I use it anymore. Is it just my area, or are you all seeing that as well?
Yes, but with FB Marketplace now, nobody is listing cars on Craigslist.
Also, craigslist's multi-term search syntax rarely works properly.
Wait, whut?
I never heard of this feature...
Legit I used to think craigslist was a social media for people named Craig

My area seems to be back on the way up. I think people are finally getting sick of face place and the idiocy that comes with it.
Probably missing out on lots of E36 M3 on berkeleyfacebook, but that's probably for the better.
Craigslist is way lower traffic than it used to be and the bot scammers are still around but the people that are left are way more serious about both buying and selling. Everything I list gets a buyer it seems. And texting sellers actually gets responses. Yes there's less stuff but sometimes quiet but effective is nice.
Prices do seem higher than what I see on Facebook but I don't have a Facebook account and won't get one so it doesn't matter.
