In my area the walk behind was within $25. The local rental yard is $225 for a good sized wheeled bobcat. 

 

I'm not making E36 M3 up and I resent the implication, I'm not impressed by the walk behinds at all and have zero use for one in my line of work.

Yeah, I need to scrape off 4" of good old fashioned hard pack Georgia clay from a corridor in my back yard. The yard is slightly higher in one area than the edge of the driveway. I put in a massive French drain last year, but even it gets overwhelmed during a freak rainstorm. The ASV looks like it will have the stones to do the job even with a smooth bucket.

I've got a drainage ditch that could use some love as well. Might try to use the ASV to clean it out but not actually drive down in the ditch, just use the bucket to flip/drag dirt out of the silt deposits.
