A Old fire boat is for sale. It's cool, but you will need the hoses to put out the stacks of money you will be burning with this thing...

he just can't afford it, so he is trying to get 5.6 times his buy-in back? sounds like he was after a quick flip opportunity.
I'd like to live on that.
Sold by Seattle one year ago for $25k, the FOURTH owner bought it for $10k and is selling it for $56k.
Whiskey.

That is the definition of hole in the water that you fill with money.

Maybe he filled the fuel tanks? It will apparently hold about $40,000 worth of fuel.

So...if you live near the shore, have a place to dock this cheap/free, and burn through a lot of gas in your vehicles, you could fill this thing up when gas prices are low and just pull fuel from it when you need to fill up your cars!

Step 1: Buy the fire boat
Step 2: Buy this light house http://gsaauctions.gov/gsaauctions/aucbystate/?sl=CHICA114013001
Step 3:???
Step 4: Have a fun time
Fire Boat officer would be my dream job withing the fire service. I have also always wanted to live in a lighthouse.
friend and co-worker of mine was in the army corps of engineers. The Tug he was on once filled up to the tune of almost $90,000
There's a world of people that convert industrial fishing boats into live aboards.
Off shore in a storm, this is the place to be! Your boudoir may smell like Gloucester at low tide for a while, but could be fun.
The one below is $20k finished.

Hey, the City of St. Louis used to have a big old 1900s vintage riverboat / tourboat tied up to a pier on the Waterfront. It was more or less derelict after ending operations in the mid-'70s. In the early '80s someone bought it at a distress-sale price, towed it down river, removed 3x 900-hp diesels that had been installed about 10 years before, gutted out a whole bunch of vintage Art Deco fixtures, and then sold the hulk back to the City for multiples of what he paid for it. Never hurts to try, I guess.
