The video is from the early 90's. Apparently at one point it was required watching for those in the lift industry. Also the video was once 700$ to purchase, but now is apparently public domain.
I recognized two people in the video from one of the manufacturers who provide parts and service where I work. When asked, they said they had a lot of fun with this.

I swear y'all can read my mind sometimes, I had this exact "I wonder what would happen if..." scenario running through my head yesterday riding up the lift at A Basin. Much rather find out this way than first hand...ouch!
