I am not one to drive a less than half a mile to stop at several stores. If they are all within walking distance and I am not carrying much, I park in one central area and hoof it.

Today, during my "hoofing" it.. I saw three major stupids inside of 10 minutes. It made me want to go home and hide.

The first was on the main highway. The road that crosses it at the light has two turning lanes to get on. As in, both left lanes can turn onto the road. In the inside lane was a pontiac sunfire and on the outside a Ford f150. Both stayed side by side through the intersection.. until the Pontiac drifted wide to slip from the inside lane to the outside.. not allowing for the fact the pickup was already in the outside lane. you can guess who lost that one.

In the parking lot, I watched a lady in a honda odyessy minivan fail trying to get into a parking spot. rather than going wide to pull into the spot she was next to, she just turned in.. her van is going to need new doors on the passengerside.

The best one though.. involved the Cadillac suv/crossover/wagon. I watched a lady put her groceries into the back as I walked through the lot and as finished putting them in, got a phonecall.

She took the call and got in.. forgetting to close the hatch. She pulled out onto the road and had to gun it to pull into traffic, spilling her groceries all over the road. I don;t think she noticed as she just kept going. I would have loved to have seen her face when she realised what had happened.

If it wasn't, it was close. All kind of stupid stuff in the last few days.

Wednesday, 18 wheeler scattered itself all over the main loop around Charleston just before rush hour. The entire town was gridlocked.

Thursday, some demented jackleg decided it would be a good day to die and tried to kill himself on the top of the main bridge across the harbor. He repeatedly smashed his SUV into the guardrail trying to drive off the edge. All this while he had signs on the truck saying bomb on board. Again traffic was gridlocked.

Today, I guess someone tried to burn down the national forest somewhere. The entire city was covered by a blanket of smoke.

Sometimes I hate people.

Well, most times actually.

Going on for longer than a couple days. I have had what happened with the Pontiac and F150 happen to me only I was in the outside lane driving an RX8. Good thing it has good brakes. The weekend before last I went to a local sporting goods store to buy some good gloves as I was heading to Montana the next day for work. Parked the RX8 about 8 slots back with empty space on both sides, came out after buying the gloves to find I couldn't get in my car with a large Chevy SUV with its right wheels in my slot, taking up more then their slot and into mine. Couldn't squeeze in. Thought about going inside the store to ask for the owner but remembered that all I saw in the store that came in after me was overweight women complaining to the register operator trying to return something and bossing around teenage kids and didn't think it would do any good. I could barely squeeze in my car after I kicked the door of the SUV and created some space. Guess I don't play well with others either.

I hate to admit that last time I got parked in like that and noticed a big door ding on my mx6 with matching paint on their car...

I just opened my door like that car wasn't there. I felt better.

Didn't want to damage my door. Two different colors though. SUV has white, My RX8 is red. Although I will admit that after I got in the car I did put my car door against theirs and moved the car a bit causing a big scratch in their paint not damaging mine.

I hit all the main highways in the Philly area today, almost all of them had car vs 18 wheeler incidents. None looked nasty but successfully jammed up traffic.

Many years ago I had a large SUV almost park on my car blocking me in, it had been a bad day backed up with a bad night. So I slipped under the SUV and knocked the trans in to neutral with the plan of moving the SUV far enough to get my car out of the parking spot. Well the SUV got away from me and rolled down a hill and in to a retention pond that was filled with water. And till this day I do not feel bad about the matter.

At one point in my life, I owned a really sweet 1-owner Escort. 3-door, gold, auto. I'm on duty overnight at the base and in the morning one of the other guys comes up to me and says that there's a van on my car. Sure enough, one of the base clowns had came in high and parked his Caravan (driver side mind you) ON my car! The quarter, door, and fender were trashed. He tried to say I did it until the base commander pointed out I had overnight duty, and his car was on top. He ended up getting dishonorably discharged (later, for failing at watch or something like that) and since he had no money I ended up with the world's best body and paint work on my car (thanks to the base insurance) and I somehow ended up with his Civic 3-door (85 base 5-speed IIRC).
