This is what out of control regulations get you. Water is not good at preventing dehydration.

And we will elect a president with mountain dew in the name!
Does the former CEO of Godfather's count?
The EU has a long history of passing bizarre regulations, the most infamous being 1995 rules setting out dimensions for fruit and vegetables which led to excessively curved bananas and ugly carrots being banned. And last year attempts to regulate the use of root vegetables in Cornish pasties sparked chaos.
WTF?
Well, it's good to know that we're not the only nation whose legislators have their heads firmly planted up their butts.
Wait...

Not quite. The sticking point was on the labeling that bottled water protects you against dehydration. It does not. For example, go down to the ocean and drink up, let me know how undehydrated in makes you.
What you will now read, is media spin making headlines with it to get you to buy their papers in order to increase their profits.

There's a mass-market for bottled salt water?
Who knew?

I knew that much - nearly every chemical compound does. I spent a few days getting signatures in high school to ban dihydrogen monoxide stating many of those things in the MSDS. A surprising amount of people signed it. Also, a surprising amount of teachers signed it.
