Recalls exist because cars are built by humans. Humans make mistakes, that's why pencils have erasers. No manufacturer is exempt, and being in the business I have seen some really stupid shi! be released to the motoring public be EVERY COMPANY I have ever worked for.
There's a whole world of recalls for everything you can imagine; there was one on drop side cribs a while back, then there's the consumer electronics stuff.
