Okay, I know we've got some other IT types on here. Have you guys ever used a web hosting company for dedicated MS Server2008 instances? I'm looking for some recommendations for the biznas.

Gotta be stable and cheap. I figured GRM was good for at least half of that.

Your own hardware or theirs? Makes a big difference, especially if you can get away with a virtual server (ie, one on a 'fractional' machine) rather than a physical box.

Edit: I use a hosted virtual server but that's running FreeBSD so my recommendation would be useless to you.

That said, if you don't absolutely have to have your own box, I'd go with one that the hoster supplies - saves you from having to rush to a colo facility half across the country when a HDD dies. Which it will, if some of my experience is anything to go by.

We actually do that for small to mid size companies - works really well for a lot of companies. - some just buy terminals and RDP in..

Can't say I have....I build ts servers of mine own (essentially the same thing, but I own and host the hardware for 18 offices)

we're looking for someone to supply the box, the management, the datacenter....basically I need a 100% uptime Microsoft server for customers to access a web-connected program, but I don't want to ever worry about upkeep. I thought someone here might have dealt with a company and could reccomendo.

of course, asking this bunch to pay someonr to manage something that could be built and run cheaper yourself may be a moot point!
