What's the deal with my laptop? 40% of the time, websites take extra long to load or won't load at all. I don't think it has anything to do with my connection, because that seems solid. Something related to flash? Other browsers don't seem to help. Any suggestions?
Above is why having some sort of back up computer is very useful.
Wired or wireless connection?
If wireless, try connecting it directly to the router/modem and see if the problem changes.
CCleaner is another useful tool to help clean your system.
Microsoft's Security Essentials is a pretty decent malware tool and it's free to download. I've found it better and less intrusive than McAfee or Symantec's products.

Just an update. I started working through your guys suggestions and CCleaner seems to have helped the most so far.
