After a very long stressful week my household is finally calming down, thank god! Needing a way to unwind, no car to work on, house is good. Time for another thing I love to do, BBQ!! Time fire up pit and grab cold beer. Nothing fancy, bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops, chicken quarters, pork ribeye chops.. potatoes been going for hours, along with pinto beans , and some squash to finish it off. Meant to take pics but not much left of to take. What are y’all having for dinner? Or how are y’all unwinding from the week?
If anyone had ever told me that being an adult just means you have no time to skate I'd never have grown up. As soon as it cools to below 100* I'm grabbing my board and heading to the skatepark. Hells yeah.
For me it's Patron Añejo Tequilla and a steady stream of old skool heavy metal.

Enjoying a Guinness and the World Cup. Had a nice time tinkering on a diy robot project with the boy and made it to the park.
I hear ya on the tempature, I’m in south Texas 20 miles from coast, high temps and humidity yay! Tequilla.. bad times, old skewl heavy metal is only my only heavy metal.
Dinner was ChikfilA after I finally got the heater box out of the ZJ. Didnt feel like cooking after that. Now sipping some bourbon and watching dumb and funny shoot em up movies with my wife while my dog barks at the neighbor's fireworks.

I've done a lot of bitching about not getting overtime anymore but they decided to let me work 10.5 hours today. Not all overtime because of the upcoming holiday but it'll be more than a regular week.
Anyway, Ziegenbock for me tonight. Cheers!

Used to be an Irish pub, run by an honest to God Irishman, that I used to go to. Guinness and being surrounded by people that were way vested in it were they only reason I cared at all about the world cup. That was years ago.
Spent the day in the semi A/C'd garage building a couple of rolling power tool storage cabinets to fit under my jointer that fits under the new workbench.
Then I grilled some coconut BBQ shrimp over an applewood fire. Got some ribs marinating in pineapple juice tonight to put on the smoker in the morning.
I agree, nothing more relaxing than BBQing with a few adult beverages after a busy week.
Don’t hate me but the weather in California is absolutely perfect…BBQing would be great but I’ve got a huge problem with my left knee and I’ve been standing all day or flying or both several times per week for over a month now so I’m staying off of it as much as possible.
Anyway, I was lecturing yesterday so I’ve got the leftovers from the catering. ~2.5 pounds of Tri-Tip and all of the fixings…corn bread, coleslaw, potato salad, and giant chocolate chip cookies.
I seem to host a lot of events on Friday’s and the food tends to be perfectly suited for weekend consumption - “Curious Captain”.

My job is m-f with guaranteed daily salary, so I don’t get actual OT. Very very seldom there’s someone needed to work a Saturday. But when there is I jump on it. Today drove 3 hours, had truck loaded up then back.
