Perhaps if you were a fan of humor he would be funny. The extra "u" may be the problem.

Lemme check with the psychotopic scan......yea, ZW has a "404 error: Humor not found" coming up with several guilt ridden memories of word crimes committed(including adding U into things)
I've been convinced for a while (though I've had plenty of people disagree with me) that Weird Al may have had a cameo appearance in "Bad".
There's a white guy in a red shirt and beret that appears from 3:11- 3:15, and 3:43- 3:55. He doesn't do any strenuous dance moves or athletics, and is not in the large group shots. He sure looks a lot like Weird Al to me.
The wimpy "white guy" jump at 3:55 kind of adds to it, but the self inflicted butt-grab at 3:50 looks completely out of place.
Thoughts?

Of course he is. That's the whole point.
When I was a kid, I remember waiting in line for this rollercoaster called The Viper at Astroworld in Houston and Weird Al getting an escort through the exit ramp to the front of the coaster. It was pretty cool.
Aaaand, it looks like 'Mandatory Fun' will be the #1 album this week- the first chart-topping album he's ever had: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/weird-al-mandatory-fun-takes-top-charts-article-1.1876326

I heard an interview with Presidents of the USA a few years back where they said they now always end "Lump" with "And that's all I have to say... about that," ever since Al parodied them.
i don't know if any of you have ever seen it, but Weird Al was on @Midnight last night.. if you are unfamiliar with it, it's a "game show" hosted by Chris Hardwick (the Singled Out guy) that's on after the Colbert Report on Comedy Central where comedians and a few celebrities make fun of stuff on the internet.. it is a very funny show, and Weird Al absolutely killed it.. he was on along with Reggie Watts (funny black dude that makes cool music on the fly) and Tom Lennon (Dangle from Reno 911).. http://www.cc.com/full-episodes/w31qa0/-midnight-tuesday--july-22--2014-season-1-ep-01092
Ok, listened to Word Crimes. It reminds me of Don't Play that Song(Achy Breaky). If you dislike the original enough, alternate lyrics doesn't improve it.

I think I may have missed something. I have never heard the original (nor do I know what it may have been called)

Yes. It's like listening to the woman in the cube next to me... every... berking... day... When she really gets going I whip out a copy of Corporate B.S. Bingo
I think it's cool how Weird Al has managed to do all of this with essentially zero record company support. If you read the articles about how he funded and promoted the videos, it's brilliant.

The game I play with the guy in the next cube is redefining the alphabet soup of acronyms that swirl around us. Our best so far is a new meaning for SMART. Instead of traditional meaning(Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-base) we use to refer to things that are Seemingly Meaningless And Really Time-consuming.

Watching that almost made me miss working in a cube farm. I'll be sending the link to my buddies still stuck in that world.
Paradigm Shift
werid al is funny to me but I hate grammar nazis. If you rant about grammar and spelling and you are on the internet you need to unplug.
