Drop by our famous downtown east side and hang around a few minutes. Blood will be spilled as usual.

You just never know what you will learn if you hang around this site long enough!
All dogs are universal donors? You mean for other dogs, or for other animals?
For humans?
I'm not trying to be ridiculous, it just comes out that way!

He means for other dogs
I'm not surprised that they don't have an Rh + and - ....I think that's just a primate thing
Yea, just for other dogs. We always had a Newfoundland or a German shorthaired pointer or two around for a good blood supply. They could write the dog and it's feeding and such off as a business expense. The Newfoundland always looked weird with big shaved spots on her neck from giving blood. She'd fill up a bottle fast. I got pulled out of bed a time or two to help with transfusions during the night, it was all good fun.
No luck on my side, everything spoken for.

This is resolved. I've found a good, inexpensive source for blood products that can ship them on short notice (they can do letting multiple times a week). My thanks goes out to the GRM family for their efforts to assist me. You guys never cease to amaze. If you find yourselves in a similar bind, send me a PM and I'll point you in the right direction
Glad we could help even if we didn't actually help. Weird questions are fun.

No, actually, you guys came through. GRM members gave me two solid leads (other blood vendors), and there were several good ideas in this thread. If I didn't have it resolved by noon, I was going to start with calling a friend who used to work in the vet college at UF (an idea from here). If that didn't work, I was going to start groveling to area veternarians. (again an idea from here.)
GRM hasn't let me down yet.

You take a syringe into a farmer's field and get some blood. There are plenty of sheep and horses around. If you need it separated... a dremel can do 30krpms. Attach it to a cut-off wheel with some safety wire 1 vial at a time and let 'er rip.
