My ring came off at work one day. We were installing an interior drainage system and had dug a trench around the perimeter of a basement. We had about 2 tons of gravel piled up on the basement floor. I searched for hours but never found it. Bought a super cheap Walmart replacement.

About three days later we were cleaning up the job and while shoveling the gravel I heard "ping, ping, ping" and saw my ring bouncing across the floor. I had it re-sized.

When I went to get the final fitting on my wife's ring, we got caught up in all the hysteria of having a wedding and bought some stupid expensive ring for me too... which I promptly lost a week after we got married. It was a little big on me and if fell off at some point. I never found it.

I replaced it with a cheap titanium ring off of Amazon. I haven't lost it, and it's been 5 years.

Lesson learned: spend all the money on your spouse's ring.

I'm in the same boat. During the ceremony we about never got it on, it hasn't been off since. Ten years and counting now. I used to wear a ton of rings (seven at one point, all at once). I actually had my finger saved from getting crushed once by a massive puzzle ring. The ring had to be cut off, but my finger didn't get crushed.

I just hate when brake cleaner gets under my ring, burns like the dickens til I can wash it off.

Very much THIS.

Because I'm pretty terrible at remembering to take it off. I've had this one for 8 years and it's probably been off my hand 4 times at the most.

I was looking on amazon and saw a couple cool carbon fiber/titanium ones, and they are pretty inexpensive, so I might go that route. the one I lost had a celtic design in it and was white gold, so something different will be a nice change.

While fishing on a pier in St. Petersburg, I was playing with my ring from boredom. Of course, I got a big hit. Spanish mackerel, nice one. Ring gone. Oh E36 M3. Got a titanium replacement, all good.

Don't even own one. When married to my 1st wife I did have a gold band but after almost losing my finger twice I took it off and never wore it again. Present wife used to bug me about getting one. Couldn't wear it at work so she said weekends only. Why wear only on weekends was my excuse. When visiting my parents once a friend of dads was over and I had him hold his hand out for my wife. He lost the finger from a ring. Wife stopped bugging me until I retired from the military and got a desk job. My reasoning is I've never had one for so long why start now and besides I do have the marriage ring around my middle. I don't wear any jewelry, not even a watch. Used to carry a pocket watch until cell phones. After over 34 years she's stopped bugging me. The diamond fell out of hers and she doesn't wear it anymore either.
