So, there I am, having a beer and well, bottling we beer. On the clock. You know the usual. Cop walks onto the brew floor. Now this kicks in a couple of instincts. Any time I see a police and I have booze in my hand, chances are I'm doing something I shouldn't be. Gut reaction is to drop the booze and act sober. Second reaction is- I don't see cops at work (or generally at all) unless E36 M3 is about to get real. Last time I had a cop come talk to me at work, it was because someone was paying to have me killed and I had to leave town. So- cop at work, not a good a sign. Couple this all with the fact that its still incredibly foreign that I'm basically encouraged to drink on the clock and you have a recipe for tom is reaaaaall berkeleying confused.
As far as the cop went, it was cool. Turns out were cool with them and they're cool with us, since were literally within throwing distance of each other. They come hang out sometimes. He wanted to see our new canning machine and new cans.
So another Friday afternoon is here, the end of the traditional work week for those of you who work. Thoughts turn to relaxing with an alcoholic beverage or six, and the start of the weekend. I just finished a couple Brooklyn Brown Ales after shoveling the remaining snow off my patio. But now I'm thinking about something a bit more interesting. Over on the CM forum our friend Rupert provided an interesting recipe for a simple "true Mexican style" margarita: two parts tequila and one part triple sec, served in a scotch type "rocks glass," although ice is optional. Salt around the rim. No margarita mix, no sweet adjunct additives, just the booze. Sounds like a classic. Problem is, I don't have the ingredients, so I'll have to make a trip to the store.
Happy Friday evening, folks!
I'm going to a huge St. Patricks party at my local pub (Greek owner) on Sunday. So I'll have my fill of Guiness and a few shots of Irish whiskey then, thank you.
I've been drinking a lot of Manhattans at home lately. Just 3 tasty ingredients.
I think I'll have a few as soon as I can escape. Although someone did leave some excellent Founders All Day IPA in the work fridge downstairs.
By the way, just as a reminder, it's Friday afternoon again. I just popped open a Long Trail Ale, "The Original Vermont Amber Ale." But I will be heading to my local pub later for something a bit stronger.
Happy Friday evening, folks.
In reply to Gary:
Sorry I didn't reply in the past week (or was it two?). I was incoherent.
I'll be leaving work in a couple minutes and am planning to down several Conway's tonight. Have a good one, people!

Johnny Walker double black that night. Dragons Milk tonight!
Yes, My Man ... thank you. Don't mind if I do.
I was so focused on working my way towards Dork status I completely lost track of time!
So I just popped open a Belgian-style saison called "La Ferme Urbaine" by Foolproof Brewing Company, Pawtucket, RI, 7.8% ABV. I have a few more waiting in the wings. Then out to the local pub with the missus. Life is grand.
