Jameson is going down smooth!
Yguengling now distributes their ice cream to a much wider area, so I was able to have a small amount of their black and tan last night, which is a chocolate, salted caramel blend. Appropriately smooth and creamy.
Last week I was having a rehearsal dinner on Friday and getting married on Saturday.
Tonight and tomorrow, I'll be drinking my Polish beer at home with my wife
It still feels like summer, so I had a couple Narragansett Summer Ales (16 oz. tallboys ... still available at some stores locally here in RI) after mowing the lawn this afternoon. Then went out to our local pub with Annie for dinner and had a Beefeater gin martini and a glass of merlot (with food, of course). Now relaxing at home with a bottle of Bordeaux. Is that excessive? I think not. Not for me, anyway. It's called relaxing. And Annie needs it because she still works and had another tough week. So that's a good reason to have another cocktail. Cheers!

good luck .. don't mean the beer … hope it comes off without TOO much drama
Hummmmmmmmm Beer + BBQ + lounge chairs in teh back yard looks like a great way to finish off the weekend.
Sitting out on my deck watching an unobstructed view of the lunar eclipse. It's a spectacular sight, although it's a bit chilly, but I have a glass of Bordeaux to help. To think, the next time we'll have a super-moon eclipse like this will be 2033 ... yikes, I might not even be around for that. Morbid thought. Fill the glass with more wine!
(10:30, just about total eclipse).

Weekends don't mean as much when you're unemployed... just means you get to spend more time with your working friends...
In reply to Ian F:
That might be the case for some people, but not with me. (Incidentally, I'm retired, not unemployed. There's a difference). I find plenty to keep me busy during the week in retirement. The routine chores and errands that used to chew up my weekends I can now do during the week, as well as other things more interesting. For instance, I have more time to work on my Spitfire than before I retired. The main health benefit now is that the unrelenting stress of the job is just no longer there. I stay busy during the week and can look forward to free weekends with Annie, who still works. So despite the old saying that I stated above, Friday afternoons and evenings do in fact still have the same meaning, and I look forward to them. I guess retirement is all about what one makes of it.
This is the slowest, most boring Friday I've had in a long time. In about 1.3276895 hrs. I'll be home and cracking open a Great Lakes Oktoberfest, one of several I plan on enjoying tonight, and the one I'll toast to Curmudgeon. How about you?
In reply to bravenrace: It has been a long day. I think a glass or two of the 12 year old Wellers in his honor are called for tonight.
Home in the man cave with a cream stout in each hand. This won't take long at all . The cover has been pulled off the TR6 and she will get a thorough thrashing this weekend. I will grin just like he did in the pictures.
Just catching up here, and found out about our friend Curmudgeon today. His passing is truly a loss of great magnitude. I will hoist a few this evening in remembrance of a great forum friend.
Still having warm weather here so I'm on the deck enjoying a porter (16 oz. tall boy by Narragansett Brewery). The weather may be warm, but it is November after all, so I think a porter is appropriate. Annie is having a particularly stressful day at work so I'll have the fireplace going (real wood fire) and a bottle of Bordeaux ready for her when she gets home.
Going on vacation, flight leaves at 7:30AM tomorrow. I'll have one on the ride home tonight (train), then will be hitting the rum tomorrow around noon, on a beach.
In reply to Gary:
That's cool. Doesn't really describe my mother's week either (her husband is retired as well). Some of her friends are also retired. Some aren't. I never know what she is doing on a given day, other than church on Sunday.
The quote is actually a somewhat obscure Primus reference.
Having one for the Cap'n right now. We should all celebrate the good news on this Friday afternoon. See? Good things can happen on Friday the 13th!
