This just in: Contestant dies in 225-degree heat at World Sauna Championships. My list of stupid, unnecessary ways to die just got a new leader. "Gored by bull at Pamplona" now slips to No. 3, while "Lost at sea while trying to sail solo around the world" is now No. 2. Seeing no change this week, No. 4 remains "Pecked to death by ducks while wearing beard of snails." Police are investigating the death of Russian Vladimir Ladyzhenskiy at the World Sauna Championships in Finland. Here he is (shown at left) in the only photo I could find that doesn't include horrific images of him frothing at the mouth with his skin literally falling from his body (this is true). Yes, there is a thing called competitive sauna.

from what i read on another site, the guy was breathing in thru his nose, bringing hot air against his upper lip which made it melt off his face. Then he stood up and his ears exploded.... Ouch

That sounds like walking into a giant smoker that's running a bit too hot.

Lets see here...water boils at 212*F. So, basically, they were boiling the water in their bodies. Smart...reaaaaalllll smart.
