I guess I'm 17 now. Yay, I guess?

You can now get into R rated movies. Right?
I don't even remember what was good about being 17 vs. being 16. In fact, the girl I was chasing at the time was only 14 (Only 1 grade difference, she skipped a grade--you'd be chasing her too if you were younger than 21), so 17 was a lot worse than 16.

Since I'm Canadian, I have to wait another year. That's okay, as most R-rated films in the US are rated 14A in Canada.
I remember it, some folks say "Gee, if I could be 17 and know what I know now...."
I wouldn't see 19 for sure.
Congrats and welcome to the slippery slope.
Happy Birthday G_Body_Man,
Today, my state of California raised the minimum age to buy tobacco products to 21. I think about the people that have been legally smoking for two years that are now being ordered to quit…I know, smokers are sub-human pieces of garbage that are undeserving of any consideration, blah, blah, blah.
BTW, why is it that the state deems those under 21 to not be smart or mature enough to make decisions about their personal lives but they’re totally good-to-go to make decisions about who should run the country which affects 330 million lives.
Anyway, happy Birthday.

Thanks! As for the now-underage smokers, it looks like your state might have a spike in vape sales off of eBay soon.

it's all part of Subaru's plan to increase sales in the state.
Happy Birthday, btw I was expecting this thread to be about a trip to NYC to interview

I haven't been contacted yet, so if I don't hear back by the 10th, I'm not being interviewed. Still, it's always good to get work out there.
When I was 17,
I drank some very good beer.

I stayed up listening to Queen,

Woho! You're old enough to join the military now!
That's what I did when I was 17. I wanted to escape the overbearing control my mother was placing on me, so I ran off to the freedom of the Navy.
Youth. So smart.

I guess my idea of moving back to Ontario because I have a relatively solid job offer isn't much better, but hey. To each their own.

I really don’t know and Googling it would be a bad idea as I’m on a work computer and the pop up ads I’d start getting would be embarrassing.
I think we’re about to make it OTC which makes sense since Oregon and Washington are already OTC…I was in Portland a few weeks ago and it was amusing seeing all the ads and stuff.

Most of the fast food restaurants out here offer some kind of “Breakfast Bowl” which is code for “start your day off right by snapping a gnarly hit”.
17 was awesome for me being British as you can't even get your learners permit until 17. So I was finally on the roads. Legal drinking age was and still is 18, but back then no one cared. I'd been going to the pub with my dad since 14 and often had a drink with the local chief inspector. Things were pretty lax back then.
Pretty interesting time, 17. I started a job that I wouldn't have imagined a year earlier. That was almost 26 years ago, and I'm still with the same employer, if a little further up the food chain. Funny thing is I almost turned the job down because it was a bit of a "stretch" for me. Be bold! (And Happy Birthday)
