Looks like they merely deflated the tires. No damage.
Mr MacConnacher, who drives 25 miles to Aberfoyle, Stirlingshire, each day for work, said he needs a large car as he often faces "challenging conditions" on the road in winter.
On Thursday he was 45 minutes late for work as he had access to a tyre pump - but said there could have been consequences for his patients.
"It's not something that's going to cost me any money, but it's still tampering with someone else's vehicle," he added.
"I have to get to my patients - fortunately I wasn't that late for work but if I hadn't had a pump I could have been hours late.

I never said it wasn't vandalism.
I just think if we're going to be angry, we should have the facts. Otherwise, we're no better than the internet.
In reading responses, I did not see where anyone mentioned tires being slashed, so I feel we are reading it correctly.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not angry at all. Mostly sad at the ignorance of it all.
We do agree they were in the wrong (not cool, etc), but you did come across as defending them, despite that.
Anyway, hope it does not escalate to far, since it's a dick move.
Why random people vehicles when they could have put them on the fleet of private planes that flew everyone to the climate summit? Or, as usual, do the shiny happy people doing the pollution get a pass while the common person gets screwed?
I can't necessarily talk, I've stolen valve stems from people that refuse to pay their debts, but there was a reason behind that other than "I'm a smug self righteous piece of E36 M3".
So SUV's pump more carbon into the air than airplanes, cargo ships, semi trucks ect? Taking out the "Leave other peoples stuff alone", worry about something that will make a difference.

They shouldn't have slashed the tires. Walking around in the UK with a knife is generally illegal unless you can justify it to the police. Scissors too.

It's absolutely a dick move.
I'm a simple creature. If I'd been defending them, I'd have said that. I'm not sure how I was giving that impression, but it isn't the first time I've agreed that something is unacceptable without apparently being vociferous enough in my condemnation to convey that clearly to everybody.
I'm also the type that thinks this level of messing with other's stuff deserves a punishment of messing with other people's stuff- possibly picking up trash from the side of the road for 8 weekends. I find it especially appropriate considering they think of themselves as environmentalists. Oh, and of course replacement of any property damaged by their stunt.

Have you not heard of the glory of carbon credits, so the private planes emit no pollutants at all? It's like magic.
Joke is on them, those tyres were inflated with greenhouse gases, in an offer to offset the carbon emissions of driving an SUV, and now they've now let those gases out into the atmosphere.

I really like that thought!

This kind of action would invoke the fury of a thousand suns. You don't berkeley with another person's car.
Even a drugged-out hitman knows there are rules in society.
Also, people pointing out this apparently happened in the UK. I am somewhat reminded of the white feather campaign during WW1. There was a really good video about it on YouTube but for some reason, YouTube only provides five or six search results when searching for a thing, so I can't find it right now. Basically, woman in England would give able bodied men white feathers as way to shame them for not being at war alongside all the other people dying in mud in Belgium or someplace. One example that I found hilarious was when they did that to a man who was on leave and on the way to a party being held in his honor because he recieved a prestigious medal for his actions on the battlefield. So, he invited them to where he was going just to rub in how much they were being a-holes.
edit: Ehhh close enough:
Should start at 4:55
I must confess that I do believe that deflating someone's tire like that would be fitting punishment for double parking in a lot with limited spaces.

I thought the same when I read that. IIRC one the largest, if not the largest, groups that contribute to emitting carbon into the atmosphere?
The US Military.

But the military serves a purpose...bitcoin mining, which alone emits more GHG's than American Airlines - not so much.

It is still vandalism. It can damage the sidewall. But I'll try to remember to use that defense when, instead of slashing him for putting his dick beaters on property he does not own, and merely remove all his air...
Thank you for giving me this new name for hands.

Old school!
I regressed for a moment... I'll try harder
The problem is that they just contributed to global warming by pulling a stunt like this. What does the owner do?
option 1) drive on flat tire to a service station, buy a new tire, while adding yet ANOTHER tire to the landfill.
option 2) call AAA, a giant, coal rolling diesel comes out to repair or reinflate the tire.
option 3) they catch the little #### in the act and bludgeon them to death. In turn, several emergency vehicles are called in to "fix" that situation, thus polluting even further.

Hey, you leave general aviation out of this.

I'm not a violent person, but I'd have a hard time not deflating whoever did that's head with a tire iron if I caught them.
Even if it were not my car
That is not considered vandalism because there is no damage, in California anyway.
