Competition: Which car would have more maintenance costs? CTS-V Wagon or this?

Awesome. I'll have one in my driveway in 15 years when the depreciation levels off, IF it comes with an honest-to-goodness manual transmission.

Building an M3 touring E46 is on my bucket list...

Is this based on any information from BMW, or is it just someone's fantasy?

make it a coupe or a sedan. No idea why people get so excited about a station wagon.

Just fantasy.

Considering the base MSRP for the M3 convertible (hmm... no sedan or coupe for '14?) starts at a tick under $70K, I'd guess a wagon version would be in a bit more.

While I'd love to see an M3 Touring, I'm pretty sure I'll be cold and blue before BMW builds one. Especially since the M5 Tourings were never sold here.

From the article link above: "the ///M wizards have no plans to introduce a touring version of the M3."

There are plenty of M-badged coupes and sedans already available, fast wagons are pretty rare.

It'll never happen though.

the M wizards will give anything the magical M touch... except the marketing peeps keep them under control. One car I would have loved to see make production was the M Compact. based on the lowely 318ti, The Motorsports Division made two prototypes.. one of which still lives in the garage in Munich. I bet it would have been just as much a widowmaker as the M coupe'

If they can build an X5 M, why not this?
