Replaced the radiator in the MX6, took it on it's maiden voyage, realized that it's absolutely terrible to drive and probably somewhat unsafe until it gets an alignment.

I replaced the o2 sensor on my 01 Ram van,and also the front brake hoses. I had to do the hoses after last Sunday doing the calipers, and bearings AGAIN,and still having brake issues. The passengers side line seemed to be collapsed, and not allowing fluid to that caliper, and then sometimes it would, and then not release it. Fun stuff!! The good news is the check engine light is off,and the van stops straight now. The bad news is I think I need to re-do the bearings even though I did them last weekend. Why are these wheels bearings such utter crap? I also found some of the sheet metal "frame rail" rotted near the front bumper on the passengers side that will need attention before inspection next month, and I think I need new ball joints.
On a more fun car related note,I did get the transmission out of the RX-4 after it got stuck in 4th gear a couple of weeks or so back. Now I just need to clean up the replacement transmission, and install it. Maybe that is a project for later this week once things slow down a bit.
Disposed of a dead Goldwing carcus, $26 of scrap. (bought beer)
Machined rear shock mounts for the good Wing.
Painted Goldwing tank, side covers and rear fender
Fetched a Ford tranny out of the junk pile, some guy drove from Buffalo to Albany to fetch it, sheesh.
Removed the rear spring assy from the 914, replacing the coils when I find a spring compressor.
Drank beer.
BBQ's ribs on Saturday.
Washed the truck and wiped out the dash and plastic inside stuff.
Sold the Goldwing fairing, bags and trunk for $80.
Bought beer.
BBQ'd chicken and Italian Sausage on Sunday, also blackened some red peppers to serve in oil and garlic.
Next weekend we're off to NYC. I need to give my hands a break.
Dan
Saturday I worked and shared my cold with some tourists. Yesterday went up to the inlaws to have steaks and play Lego with the nephew. Started watching America on History Channel. Today I'm finishing the electric and hopefully paint the garage so I can work like a human being.
I went to see the Allman Brothers Band, did some weeding, mowed the grass, drove the Mini on some errands, and drank some coffee on the back porch.
Beer with a buddy after work to celebrate my re-qual status on the mighty mighty E-3
Beer and dinner with the missus, lest she smarten up and realize she could do better.
6.5 miles Saturday morning
Took my "I just got promoted" european sports cars to a show (didn't enter, just went) - had a beer there
Got caught in downpour driving home, met a buddy for a beer.
Pizza with friends (Diet coke) - watched the Thunder trounce LA (suck it Jack!)
6.5 miles Sunday morning
Mowed lawn, beer.
Rediscovered Classic Motorsports forum (hadn't been there since the split) - see earlier ref about new to me car.
I replaced a transmission in a 2000 Dodge Ram on the street in front of my house in the rain. Also changed a radiator in a Sentra on the street in front of my house, in the rain. Oh, and to add to the sucktitude of the situation, while rolling back and forth under the Dodge on the slightly rough asphalt, two of the wheels broke off of my creeper. At least I made a little extra money.
Mowed the grass at the g/f's house Friday after work.
Vacuumed and cleaned the interior of the TDI (with pending rain, a wash & was was pointless) for the first time in a year.
Did some weeding around the flower beds.
Sunday drive in the ES to Ikea for a Volvo gathering was skipped due to rain.
Finally got my new-to-me 325is in the air on the lift last night to investigate why the "brake lining" light is on (bad RR sensor; possibly some worn wires as well).
Worked on my new RalyX car.
Duct tape numbers. From RX-7
Ignition ripped out. From RX-7
Power steering pump is somewhere in there. From RX-7
Wife cleaned numbers off with Goo Gone and whatever else we had laying around and lots of elbow grease. From RX-7
The ear of the power steering pump bracket was hitting the new oil lines so I removed it. From RX-7
Now it fits From RX-7
Wired up power switch and push button start (Thanks Keith) From RX-7
Still need to clean up the wiring in there and a bunch of other things but it is coming along.

one of the restaurants I work at has ayinger brau weisse and dunkel, sadly I'm sober for now
We managed to get the jaguar up to PA, bit of fuel and a sock air filter, with some rubber gloves over the brake fluid reservoir, oh and of course the usual lucas electric oddity... the flasher relay needed to be in just the right orientation... and the headlight relay needed to be smacked to function properly. oh and I managed another speeding ticket.

What!? I've never seen Ayinger for sale ANYWHERE other than this huge intl. market here in Ohio. I was on a huge German beer thing for a while and really started to like Ayinger. Pricey, but worth it.

a customer last week has been to the really small town of Ayinger, and was very shocked to see we had it also. weihenstephaner has a dark hefeweizen that is incredibly good.
Drank a fifth of vodka, freed some fiddler crabs from my parents condo's pool, drank a fifth of rum, played golf (drunk) and don't remember the score.
all in all a good weekend.
Changed the intake manifold gasket on my wifes 2.4l Altima. Cursed the guy who engineered the intake on the KA24DE engine and considered taking out a contract on same. My weekends run Sunday-Monday so I will drown my sorrows with Mojitos tonight.

Ok... riddle me this:
Everyone i've ever talked to has replaced an intake manifold gasket on SOMETHING.
I've never ONCE had to do it. Or at least i don't think it's been necessary. Why is this?
