So my family usually hands off Christmas list around Thanksgiving and I am trying to make mine but I am struggling to come up with what I actually want. So far, I have a small list of cheaper car parts I want (but I rarely get them. For some reason people don't seem to think car parts are a good present). Other then that, I have a Casio AE1200WD watch, Balvenie 14 year Caribbean cask scotch and money. Anyone got any ideas of cool stuff that I could add to my list (under $100)?
Tools are always good, GearWrench sets or something.
No idea.
At 31 with an OK income, anything I want is well outside the realm of asking family for.
I'd maybe just go for some hooch.

That is my problem basically I am not much of item person. I only really have one hobby I spend money one which is cars (I also play ultimate frisbee and soccer but those are cheap and I just basically need cleats). I am struggling to think of tools I need (other then big stuff like welder, mill and lathe). I am starting to get into watches as well but I have a small selection of watches I want and either they are more then I am willing to ask for or second hand Russian.
In the same boat myself. I really struggle to come up with gift ideas. Usually, I can always go to my fallback - ammo - but since that's in somewhat short supply and is stupid expensive right now, that doesn't seem like that great of an idea. My wife has been hinting she might buy be a GoPro or similar camera to record autocross runs, but that's more than I really want her spending. I'll probably end up asking her for GT6 and calling it a day. As for the rest of the family, it will probably be the usual assortment of gloves and socks.

I always ask for stuff that I want, but can't justify buying for myself. Woodford Reserve Bourbon, or a big Mag Lite (it doesn't work any better than a free harbor freight one, but its a Mag Lite!). Or this year, kitchen stuff. Again, nothing wrong with my college stuff, it still performs admirably, but if the gf... wait, fiance, and I want to have a nicer get-together, we want to serve our friends on something that isn't plastic. That can wait for the late night shenanigans.
Stuff on my list this year:
- Case of Zywiec (beer)
- Woodford Reserve
- A couple of books (I'll come up with them later)
- A couple of CD's (Same as above... and there is just something about a CD I still love)
- DVD or Blue Ray, usually ask for a classic
- Hockey Jersey
- Various clothes (again, nothing wrong with my current undershirts, but they're getting holey and yellowed armpits)
- New Referee sweater would be on there, but it is tax deductible so I'm buying it myself

Same here... since splitting with the g/f, my mother is the only person I'm exchanging gifts with now... and neither of us really 'need' anything... Right now, I'm planning to suggest we just go find fancy restaurants for a couple of dinners.

So what hooch should I ask for? I like whiskey but I have a pretty decent collection (I have a decent sized bottle of Woodford already).
I have the Balvenie scotch on the list. I will add Booker's bourbon.
I recently discovered www.courvoisier.com/Gold and I really like it. Super smooth and sweet.

I asked for money/gift cards that can be spent anywhere......I am not holding out much hope there as I'm sure I'll still end up with just clothing.
Knowing you....... Another Yugo or parts for the one you have. That's around $100 or less, right?

If you like Irishes- Check out 2 Gingers. It's ONLY available in MN (at least that I know of) and with some ginger ale, it's SUPER amazing. I can give you my home made ginger ale recipe too- but prepare not to do anything that night, because you'll get super hammered cause it's so delicious.
If you're a rum guy, Captain Morgan(!) has a new one that's incredible.

And I usually find it for less than 20 bucks a bottle. Throw this in some cherry coke, proceed to winning. It's REAL good. Otherwise- check out that beer thread that we have going, pick anything off the list there. If it's MN based products you're after, I'm down for getting them to you, or something.

Oh nice, they must be branching out. Kind of an interesting story how we got it first-
The owner of the Local and several other irish bars in MN went to Jameson to get a deal- because he had walls of Jameson in his bars and sold a E36 M3-ton of it, because we're bored and cold in the winter. Jameson told him to eff off with his deal, and so he goes to Ireland, finds a whiskey guy, makes his OWN whiskey, bottles it, brings it back to the US and takes Jameson off his walls in favor of 2 Gingers. He still HAS Jameson, but it's down in the wells.
I fiugre I want a 70cm/2m digital dual band HT. Maybe a mobile transceiver...
You shoudl get one, too.

Rum is ok. I make Dark and Stormies and Rum swizzles occasionally. Don't drink it straight much.
Really if I am drinking straight liquor, it is tequila or whiskey.

I have a bunch of parts for the Spitfire and Civic on there already. No one gets me car parts though.
We are in a similar boat that anything we want/need we just buy when our budget allows.
Last year our church was doing a "Bring Yer Cans" giving campaign. We identified some gifts for the kids and purchases some gifts to give to people but just asked that all incoming gifts be either caned goods or money. Nearly everyone complied and we got ~200 cans of food for the food bank. The prior year was a "Haiti house" giving campaign buying ICF forms for a community in Haiti and our family members gave bricks in place of gifts for us. They still will buy something for us but a good portion of their gift becomes charity which is nice.

My inlaws are usually pretty good about getting me car parts. Last year I got some urethane steering rack mounts and a new hazard switch for the E21.
$$. If anyone is thinking of getting me anything that will do nicely.
