I would recommend sticking with lenses that are directly compatible with the Sony. Adapters are good if you already have lenses that you want to use, but most of the time you end up with a completely manual lens and it may not be that easy to adjust the aperture/focus (when I tried this with a Canon DSLR and non AF lenses, I was greatly frustrated by the lack of a focusing aid in the viewfinder).
