My Dad drives one of these except with a grey int. and a 5 speed:
My Moms last car was a Black 1993 Bonneville sse that I got after she passed away.
My FIL after like 40 years of buying Buicks got a 2003 SAAB 9-5 Aero after being exposed to our last two SAABs. They have had it about a year and love it so far.

It's cool that there aren't many boring vehicles in our parents' garages.
Yeah I guess it points to young beginnings for us being exposed to cool cars, which I believe to be the starting point for car enthusiasts. What kid can get excited about cars when his parents have a camry and a windstar? You'd have to have a mother like mine. When she was going through college, she had to drive her 6 younger siblings to school every morning. What car did she buy with her $2 an hour, with the need to carry 7 daily? a new 1970 mustang, of course! Oddly, my dad has the mustangs in the family now, and my mom will only get rid of her supra if she can get a new vette or boxster. She doesn't even like mustangs anymore, except for 1970 mustangs. My dad isn't to thrilled with them either, though. He says they just take up room in his garage. I offered to graciously take them off of his hands free of charge, but then I remembered I don't have room to park them and I live 1000 miles away...
I have no idea where I got my love of cars. My parents have always owned boring appliance mobiles. My grandpa loved to work on cars but he never had anything exciting. In fact the only person in my family who really cares about cars is my cousin in England.

Oooh, I'll add for the wife's parents, since she's not on here.
FIL Drives a 200x Chevy 1/2 ton for work- trades em in every year or so. Has consistently had a car payment since the 80's. He also has a pair of 61? Econoline cab-over trucks, one for parts, one for disconnecting the steering and letting it go in the cow pasture to see what happens.
MIL drive a 1999 New Beetle manual- bright freakin yellow. Owned since new, elected not for the turbo (!) because she didn't want speeding tickets. They also share a 67 GTO that they saw on the side of the road one day- and decided they wanted it.

Mom- '09 Mazda 5- got with cash for clunkers when they traded in their rotting '94 pathfinder. They couldn't justify something that didn't at least give an option for 3 rows of seating or places to carry big stuff so the 5 was a nice compromise to a bigger van. We even influenced 2 sets of alloys with snows on one- she'll thank me after all the snow in Philly...
Dad- '05Escape they got for free from a crazy uncle. Dad liked "to slide in and out of the seat with ease" so it worked and the price was right. Before that an 94 Quest and before that an '82 Datsun 220 stick.
He taught me car basics before I left the house which gave me a jump start with some more crazy male influences along the way got me hooked on cars. I have a hard time understanding females who don't get anything about cars. They'll start telling me something and I'll say, "oh yea, what kind, what motor, etc." They'll say.. "its red?" sheesh. who needs kids when I can have an Aston in my driveway?
Mom and Dad have a '94 Vette in Admiral Blue (6spd) that Mom commutes in once a week threes seasons out of the year. Dad commutes daily in an '02 Mustang GT (also manual). Also in the fleet are a '94 C1500 Suburban, '04 GMC Extended Cab Shortbed, and an '07 Forester (5spd manual). Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...
One interesting note is that despite having lived in CT for all of their lives, the Forester is the first (and only) AWD/4WD vehicle they've owned.
Another interesting one is when they met in college, they were both driving Corvairs.

Mom has a 2004 Legacy Wagon.
Dad's last vehicle (he died in 94) was a 91 Chev 2500HD - 4wd, 454, and 4 speed manual with a granny low.
When they first came to the US in the late 60s/early 70s they had a Slant 6 Valiant. When they moved to the United Kingdom, they had an original Mini Cooper. When we moved to India, they had a Ford Prefect which eventually got stripped and stolen. When they came back here they went beige, 89 Cutlass Supreme, 94 Elanta, 94 Jetta, and the current daily is a 95 Accord V6.

Mom has an early 90's Grand Marquis.
The last in a long line of Mercs. Her favorite was her '68 S55 with a 428 scj engine, black/black/black
Dad drives an '01 Civic EX sedan, auto (blahhhhh), green. Mom drives an '08 Mazda3 hatchback, 5-speed (yay!), maroon.
They own a '99 Miata as a toy. Red, 5-speed, Torsen diff, Bilstein shocks (that's right, Sport Package bishes!), Hard Dog roll bar, Borla axle-back exhaust, Kosei K1s with some overly expensive Bridgestones on them.
Keep trying to convince them to stuff an LS1 into it. I showed them the video of the LS1 FM Miata...my dad's face lit up, and mom immediately said "Absolutely not."
Mom: '08 Pontiac Torrent
Dad: '07 Miata 6-spd (winter in Florida); '04 Saturn Ion (summer in NJ)
My mom has a 1996 Maxima GLE that's been a royal PITA lately.
My dad has a 2008 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L and a 2003 Harley 100th Anniversary FLHTC.
They are both in their 60's.
