Good to hear about the schooner.  While not racing, it still sounds like sailing around the world should be quite the adventure.

On the racing front, another crazy idea that just popped into my head is a certain publisher of a certain classic motorsports magazine happens to somewhat know a famous rock star who is into vintage racing. And profiled a pretty wild vintage sports racing a year or two ago said rock star races on occasion. I wonder.... wink

Cancer is a bitch. It runs in both sides of my family, so it's probably how I'll go.

A schooner isn’t as fast as a sloop but it’s smaller sails make it easier to handle with a small crew,  in addition it it’s down wind stability is better.  I’m not sure he’s going in the right season for trade winds sailing  but in his position I wouldn’t wait. The real adventure should come down in the roaring 40’s. Waves 90 feet tall aren’t that uncommon.

Cancer is tough, too many of my friends have gone that way. It took my father and my wife. I understand why he needed quick action.  If I were facing that I’d be just as quick.

Yep. Cancer sucks. I just found out a high school classmate passed away from complications related to leukemia on Sunday.

It does make you stop and consider what is important in your life.
