Agreed but why, what has changed, can we objectively confirm that the dynamic has in fact changed?
Perhaps our expectation that the future should consistently be better than the past isn’t realistic and people suspect others are somehow stealing “their” great future.
In other words, people may think for whatever reason that things should be better and since they’re not, someone must be to blame.
A lot of it has to do with Facebook and their cohorts who have created computer algorithms that reinforce what we like by showing us more of what we "like" and less of what we don't.
The practical result of this self selecting is that I like guns so I see lots of stuff about how cool guns are and how terrible Obama is for trying to take all my guns away. But my mother doesn't like guns and sees lots of stuff about how terrible guns are and how we'd all be better off if they were all tossed in the ocean.
Obviously neither is the whole truth or unbiased but both side reinforce what our original opinion was.

I now hesitate before shopping on line and ask myself “is this item so desirable that I’m willing to see a myriad of pop-up adds for it”. I should probably search on breast reduction or something like that to cleanse out all the fuel filters and box wrenches I have to look at all day

I was watching some news channel the other night and lead in was Caytlin Jenner wears a mini skirt for the first time....are you kidding me!!! There were so many other real stories to report and this was their lead. I pretty much never watch any broadcast or cable news anymore.

Well, except for me. Half my strings are broken and the rest seem to be tangled up.
