First time I posted this, it formatted such that you couldn't reply or delete. Mods can delete the other one and I'll try again.

There is one of those stupid clickbait websites that shows this car as an example of how awful diesels are, and goes into reasons like "failing swirl flaps" and "they have these terrible things called EGR valves."
I'm in the middle of writing a response eviscerating their hack job, but wanted to throw in the stinger that the picture is inaccurate as well. Unless this car has a massively failing injector, this is not a diesel. It's also clearly spinning the tires on what looks to be a drag strip, so it could be modified for racing.
Ideas on what it is?
RWD with a solid axle it looks like.
Leaf springs with backup sensors? Weird.
I'm thinking it may be some modernish hatchback with a rwd solid axle swap.

Kind of agree. Limited rear overhang means there's probably not much trunk space, and the super short rear bumper could indicate a low load floor/hatch instead of a more traditional rear bumper and trunk lid.
Plug on the lower "pumpkin" section of the differential suggests Toyota type of rear. Definitely something with a drop out center section. If that helps
Looks like a Toyota rearend with the protected drain plug off to the side like that.
Whatever it is, it has a tailgate.
Looks like they used a "stock" photo used in a lot of pollution articles.
Stock pollution photos
Here's a less cropped version that shows some tailight:

Good catch!
What is interesting is that there are other images, from another angle, that seem to show the same vehicle but with a left side exhaust, and, the kicker, there are identical images but with different colors.
So it smells like someone put together a Photoshop of a bunch of different vehicles, maybe.
By the way, here is the bollocks article. I don't want this to be a debate, I just thought you might enjoy the complete idiocy of it.

I just love that they hate diesel because they have "lead-acid batteries that can fail causing a no-start condition."
The tailpipe itself looks odd. Almost like it's a cheap aftermarket version. And the paint scheme seems really off too. As someone noted, it may be a compilation of various 'car' photos.

This isn't a matter of anyone hating anything.
It is just a click-bait site aggregating content in a foreign language. Writing a comment won't make it change its mind go away.
In fact, I would bet there are also "articles" on that site extolling the virtues of diesel, as well as "debunking" myths that appear in the very same article that has you upset.
All they really care about is getting more traffic to their website.
I read that whole article. It's so full of nonsense that I honestly can't tell if the author made it up to scare people, made it up to troll people, somehow got through university without actually learning how to do proper research, or has the reading comprehension of a 2nd grade student. Baffling.

Exactly.
No one is going to read the comments and decide to change their ways. In fact, comments mean people are reading.
The exhaust "smoke" looks photo shopped to me. Pretty easy to do with the program I have.
