Well, normally when you have an intake backfire and you set fire to the carb or air filter, the thing to do is immediately re-start the engine which will extinguish the flames.

He posted the video, to try to force it to go viral, so he could make money from the youtube hits... but none of the sites that are showing it (like this one, or Jaloponik) are linking to HIS video, they are all linking to a mirror. he is being a dousche to everyone on that FB page, and also said, that " a big name producer asked to star in an upcoming tv show from this."

One of my friends has a rolloer coaster oriented YouTube channel. He gets something like $1000/month in advertisement sharing, sometimes a lot more.

Oh, I understand that. It's basically sucking the flame away from the oxygen source and vice versa. But when the whole engine has flames on it to the point you can barely reach the starter solenoid, you are not doing anything but givin the flame more time to spread.

Also, good call on havinge the gas can sitting on the windshield, that's probably a better idea than having a fire extinguisher handy for your first start.
