I can't find it now, But I'd swear that during the late 80s there was a problem with drivers passing out from the G forces being produced by open wheelers with too much downforce. Go ahead and laugh and point if I'm wrong, cause I can't for the life of me find any reference to it right now.
The new Lotus F1 is hottt.

For those of you who ever wondered what a BRM H-16 looked like, the part where Stewart comes in and the crew member scoops the crap out of the nose is a good reference.
Clark wins in a Lotus 49 and Chapman throws his hat.
and six months later Clark would be gone...
I always used to lean more towards production car racing, but lately I find myself looking at formula cars more and more.

In a stinking F2 race. If those guys made the money then that modern pro drivers do today, it never would have happened.
OTOH, a lot of the best racers of that era were so good because they drove anything they could get their hands on. I guess I just wish the safety equipment was better back then. Isn't it ironic that protection is better than ever, but a professional's team or series obligations (and often, insurance) often prevent him/her from doing that kind of thing?

You may be remembering the time CART tried to race at Texas World Speedway. Jerry from LA & I have been talking about it on another thread:
