Kinda shocked. No Luke. No Han Solo. No Chewbacca. No Darth Vader. No Yoda.
Saw Batman, Spiderman, assorted Mario Brothers, cats, dogs, witches, Stranger Things, dinosaurs, those puffy, air-filled monsters, football players, a mummy or two. Had a family as Scooby Doo and company.
No Iron Man, no Captain America. One Wonder Woman.
We had a Marty McFly that nailed it. Dad was dressed as Doc Brown. Had a perfect Dorothy and Toto, too.
Shout out to a high school kid. No costume, no bag, just eating the candy as he walked up. Dude was probably living his best night.
A couple of hundred people came to see us. Dog is tired, we are tired.
I saw one Star Wars costume. Couldn't quite place the character - maybe something from one of the newer series - but the aesthetic was clearly Star Wars. Looked kinda like a blue version of the snow speeder pilot uniform.
no Star Wars here either. Had a pretty awesome hogwarts express train though, complete with steam engine sounds.
I am Han Solo. Have been since I was 6.

Several Harry Potters and Ghostbusters, too, I should add. I think we had a Ghostbuster with a lightsaber, too. Or maybe that was part of his proton pack.
Our turnout was lame this year, maybe 20 kids total. Best part was when a dad from down the street and his BIL rang the doorbell to ask about the Holden. That kinda made my day.

Maybe 10-15 kids. Up from last year. No star wars either. The full size replica lightsaber next to the door I had ready to go for an epic battle was put to waste. The full size candy bars (we were that house because no one trick or treats our neighborhood and I figured berkeley it, if I'm spending $20 might as well get it) were DEFINITELY worth it. Every kid was super stoked. Lots of REALLY? and WOW. the avengers did try to empty the bowl, might have been working for Hydra.

This will have to do, I wore it to a Trunk or Treat early in October. Of course it was 86F that day.
Some of my friends wore their costumes, if I had kids come by I would have worn something. But I had 10-12 young teen girls at once show up around 630pm, and nothing else. Which is more than some years. No sidewalks, no street lights. But I did give all the girls my assorted trading cards of costumes.
I saw a lot of Beetlejuice costumes thanks to the sequel, which I loved. One entire family dressed up and the kid was this guy:
I think I saw a single Stormtrooper (even if he did look a little short for a Stormtrooper...)
The only reason I can come up with is that we're between movies/shows/games:
- The Last Jedi came out 7 years ago
- New seasons of The Mandalorian and Andor are still in production
- Battlefront 2 (4?) also came out 7 years ago
Of course, I think there are a few animated series currently out that I'm not familiar with, but they seem to be more of a deep cut.
But then again, my daughter dressed as Elsa this year, a character from a movie that came out 11 years ago yet still manages to remain relevant.

No one at my place, cause I live upstairs in a mother in law suite behind the main house.
However my buddy has a video of a kid just walking up and emptying the bucket of candy he set out while he took his girls trick or treating.

Yeah, seen a few videos like that already. That seems to be a thing these days.
