With all of the ZAV talk on this board, I'm shocked I haven't seen a thread on this yet. I just heard about it last night.

Coming to your living room this Halloween. Well, mine at least.

Horses- a better zombie escape vehicle than zombie assault vehicle.

I've heard of it and it sounds awesome but I don't have cable so I try not to think about it.

Well, what's the consensus? I thought it was great and creepy/real enough to make me cringe a few times. Still feeling bad for the horse...

Maybe a little underwhelming, but I liked it. No jaw-dropping "Holy Smokes" moments, other than the Sherriff's gunshot at the beginning.

They spent a lot of time on character and environment development, so that's good. In the big picture, I consider the jury still out.

Hmm, I'll have to wait for it to hit Netflix.

We watched "The Crazies" last night, not sure how I feel about it.

Errr . . . not for the horse!

For what it's worth, I enjoyed it. Make-up is top-notch, which is more than you can say for a lot of zombie features. Felt like they were setting up the characters and environment more than they were going for the omgwtfbbq moments.

On a side note - it was cool seeing it take place in Atlanta, where I happen to call home.

Yeah, not sure how I feel about the plot itself. Sure, there was some zombie killin, but it seemed like any other "lost love" type drama (cops' wife, other dudes' wife) but with zombies. I was hoping for a little more post apocalyptic mayhem, custom ZAV's, mad max camps and the like. Maybe later.

At least the cop was smart enough to acquire himself a p71 before/after the horse got.... lost.

I am also residing in Atlanta, and the commercials make me believe I will enjoy that aspect.

We DVR'd it cuz we missed it on the way back from the Savannah Speed Classic last night.

I will be watching it this evening, then I will be sure to weigh in.

Watched it last night. I liked it and have high hopes. I'd like it to be more zombieland-ish, but it's the only series going for zombie fans right now, so can't be too picky I guess.

The girlfriend and I had a zombie movie marathon this weekend so we kinda burned ourselves out on zombies before it came on. I will catch it online or in a rerun.

Which if they're true to the novels, will end up being quite... pointless.

E36 M3 should get real real, real fast if they follow the books. It adapts from "lost love" to something more sinister very quickly.

I liked it. A little slow, but it's the first episode. Set up some main characters, got the location, and built a little tension. The weapons stuff was pretty good (although a lot of people are all over him saying "make sure your safety is off" to the deputy at the beginning cause he has a glock, although apparently some police glocks do have external safeties). It could go bad either way. If it goes to much into random zombie violence the show will get old quick. If they don't put enough zombie violence in, it'll get old quick. I watch with bated breath.

I caught the Glock safety bit too. I've never seen one with a manual safety, but that doesn't mean they can't exist. My other big question is why the deputy didn't take a gas siphon with him.

Kraut, I hear they are staying very close to the graphic novel. If you haven't read them, stay tuned, they have some pretty intense stuff in there.

The first episode had me hanging on pretty well, and I went away impressed at how graphic the whole thing was. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really liked the first episode.

It was quite entertaining, as well as visually stunning.

How long could you stay in a coma without water or food? It looked like the hospital had been abandoned for a couple days. Wouldn't he have dehydrated?

Did anyone watch The Colony on Discovery? It was a bit too reality, but it was a bunch of fun to watch.

If Max Brooks knows anything about Zombies, I should be pretty well set for the infestation.

I downloaded the first two episodes and I'm torn.

When there's something going on it's awesome but some scenes just drag on forever. The conversation between the two cops in the first episode felt like it would never end. In the second episode, that zombie chopping scene must have lasted a good 5 minutes when it should have been a whole 30 seconds. I'll keep watching but I really hope it improves.

For more post apocalyptic television check out "Survivors" on netflix. It's about a plague, not zombies but it's still pretty good.

Yah basing the entire 2nd episode around smearing zombie gutz on the deputy sheriff and asian guy was a bit much. I tried watching Survivors, but people pretending they are living in TEOTWAWKI isn't even close to what it would actually be like. I wouldn't chase people with sticks and harsh language if they were stealing my food; I'd drop them. Of course you can't justify killing someone because they stole all your food on a show, but that would be the same as murder if that was real life.

I was hoping this would be the first semi-realistic zombie film or series, but I guess I'll have to keep waiting. I don't know why the theme of "real world + zombies" is soo incredibly difficult.

For the record, there are no such thing as Zombies.

Still have the pilot sitting on my harddrive. Not exactly family friendly so I haven't had a chance to watch when the little ones aren't around.

I'm amazed by the number of people walking around unarmed, or thinking they are in a safe place, so they leave their weapons across the room.

I'm a confirmed dork when speaking of post-apocalyptic scenarios, dying for more of this series thus far. Hopefully the plot and character development will shape up before this gets the ax.

Anyone else here watch the sole season of Surface when it was still on? I'm reminded of that show; neat premise, few actors I've heard of, cancelled before it came to it's peak.
