I don't know... I think they are more arrogant libertarians who think that a properly planned economy will outperform a market one and that intelligently metered "justice" will always provide a superior outcome to simply applying the law. It's a weakness that those with slightly over-average intelligence and/or the highly educated are prone to.

On paper, it's not difficult to make a case that's true. But the entire recorded history of civilization provides evidence for the opposite...

I, too think Paglia is brilliant; one of the most articulate and honest societal "observers" out there - but, conflicted in her perceived application of government.

The end doesn't justify the means when the "end" means something different to so many people.
