I have a free weekend in April in / near Ft Lauderdale.

Any ideas for car related stuff? We are willing to drive as well.

We initially thought about going to Disney World, but that is WAY expensive. More importantly, i am not sure i will enjoy it (no kids).

Thanks,

Rob R.

Beach, rent a sailboat, scuba dive, fish, go to PBIR (car related), surf, back to the beach.

Near Disney World is Universal Studios amusement park, which actually has rides that would be fun for adults.

Protip: Ride the Dueling Dragons late at night, on the way out jump over the chain into the other (most likely empty) line and ride the other coaster.

Ah, another visitor from the Frozen Northlands! PBIR for car stuff, have a slightly strange drag strip at the Dade/ Broward county line run by a police dept. that is fun. Depending on how much time you have, I always suggest a trip to the Keys, even if it's just to go to Alabama Jack's on Card Sound Road. (Google it). Used to be a genuine smuggler's hang out, tamer now. In Ft. Lauderdale, we have an excellent entertainment area, Himmarshee, right downtown. FAR better than South Beach. It's spring break time, so the beach area will be a zoo. Go see the Gator Boys at Everglades Holiday Park. No, really, it is good. Cruise in at the Home Depot parking lot at University Drive and I 595 on Friday nights. Southport Raw Bar for a good dive bar experience. That's in Ft. Lauderdale. PM me for more. I live in Ft. Lauderdale, know it well.
