What Wife, Car Edition?

Just thought the thread title sounded funny in the reverse!

If only it worked that way! LOL

You know, I've actually (mistakenly) read a thread title as such more than once before.

Somewhat related question, what level of involvement does your significant other actually have in the hobby? Are they an enthusiast? Do they engage in car talk, or at least tolerate you speaking it at them without shooting the death stare back? How do they react to your random outbursts over Craigslist finds, or when those finds ultimately show up on a trailer in your driveway? Can they drive a stick, change their oil, diagnose simple problems?

Just curious how you all keep the balance between the hobby and SWMBO.

my SWMBO is very tolerant.... She is actually pretty knowledgeable after hearing me talk at her for years now. She even went to the parts store, bought her own coolant and filled it up in her car! She just rolls her eyes at me, or ignores my emails of random CL finds. If i beg a plead enough she will usually give in to something coming home, but I have that last said something still not finished so no more till after that.... She rides a dirt bike thats a manual, but refuses to drive a stick. Im sure she could, just no desire to.

Tiger Mom co-drives the CSPish Miata, enjoys changing the oil (weather permitting), and is generally supportive to a modestly motorhead lifestyle.

I once married a woman in part because she drove a manual-transmission car (albeit a Camry) and refused to drive a car with an automatic.

Yeah, that was not such a good indicator of anything.
