99 Camry xle 4 cyl. 78k miles
Looks clean. How much do you discount for age?
They are asking $3800
If I needed a penalty box, that seems like a reasonable one to pick up provided it isn't on the verge of returning to earth as iron oxide.
I sold my 99 camry 4cyl, auto, cloth with 325k five years ago or so for 1900.
Seems like that car at that miles and price is a screaming deal.
The other pics make it look like a cream puff.
Older owner.
Ive been looking for my brother who needs a DD. He hesitated too long on another toy last week.
I could use this myself but I'd be crazy to buy it right now!
If I saw it and was OK with the underside, I'd offer $3k and see where it went. If it is solid underneath, I'd be willing to go up to $3.5k if necessary. My data point.
Those 4cyl engines tend to sludge up (I owned a '98 for years). I'd check for regular oil changes.
And for reference, I sold my '98 for $3,500 in 2005 in excellent condition with 134k on it with a second set of wheels and Blizzaks. Guess I should have hung onto it. But that was when gas was cheap and everyone wanted H2s.
$3,500 is probably a fair price on the Camry in this crazy market.
4 months ago I sold a blue 2013 Sonic like this one for $3500 w/ 103k miles and also a little bumper plastic damage. Here is an Orange Sonic with just 71k asking $2,900. This is could be a good price on some basic transportation without being too old.
Note of caution. My hubcapped Sonic was so basic it didn't have Cruise control. Check to be sure if that's important to you. I noticed the Orange car's ad doesn't give any interior pics. I would ask for some.
Spotters guide...Cruise on this car will be buttons on the steering wheel. May, or may not also have steering wheel buttons on the other side of steering wheel for radio controls.
This 09 Focus has crank windows so might not have cruise either but $3.5k with 72k
I sold a 2000 4 cylinder automatic with around 110K miles for $2650 last winter. I inherited it. It was a 2 owner (2 little old ladies) well maintained car.
2005 XLE V6 leather , moonroof, loaded, had scratch down the side, 116k, couldn't move it at $3500 last fall, went to Carmax for $2500. Watch Camrys for rusted caliper guide pins and hardware . Apparently no corrosion protection at all down there.
secretariata (Forum Supporter) said:O-hi-O...no pics of underneath. I stand by my earlier comment...
It still exists, and the wheels are not massively corroded, so it's probably clean underneath too.
