My better half and I are just going to have a simple dinner at home.
Just curious what everyone else is doing!

4th row seats in the end zone for the Lions game, then to Aunt Genny’s and Uncle Jim’s for a killer Polish American dinner. This is year 4 for going to the game. We are 2-1 so far.
All our kids will be with their other parents tomorrow so TM and I are going over to my sisters' house for a modest sized get together and feast.
Making cinnamon rolls with the little tyke for breakfast, then eventually putting a turkey in the oven. Not real concerned with the bird, but I'm almost out of stock. Otherwise, just holding a chair down and making sure the Xbox doesn't run away.

Ooohhhh, what would be considered a Polish American dinner? No snark, I have no idea!
Oh, I forgot. We're doing a local 5K in the morning at Keeneland. It's kind of a pretty spot and the 5K raises money for charity. Might as well exercise a bit before overeating.
Back home to the family farm with my parents and sister. Hoping for low drama; if anything does happen, it'll be due to extended family being stupid. I give it a 1 in 2 chance off happening at some point.
Probably working on the Shopping Weekend sale prep.
But also, a 5k Turkey Trot and a home-grown prime-rib dinner at the in-laws.
Due to travel logistics holding Thanksgiving on Saturday at SWMBO's mothers home.
As far as Thursday getting up early to deep fry 10 or 12 turkey breasts to deliver to my neighbors...a tradition I started about 10 years ago. Then to homeless food bank kitchen to serve dinner to those less fortunate.
Picked up a fresh 15 pound torkey from the local poultry farm on Monday and I'm going to get it in the Alton Brown brine this afternoon. We'll take the clan over to my Mom & Dad's where we'll eat goetta and eggs for brunch then drink bourbon slush all afternoon while the torkey takes his trip to the sauna.
Going too my dad's to eat and watch some football. Relaxing year compared too most since my in laws are in chicago this Thanksgiving
Going to my uncle's place for an overly crowded meal, eating too much, wrangling a two year old, looking at a 3rd gen crammit across the bridge. Hopefully a nap.

Eating turkey and watching for AngryCorvair in the end zone of the Lions game. You should wear a GRM hat or something so I can find you.
Grading the driveway with some borrowed equipment and having family over for lunch. After that I'm holing up in the house and not coming out until Monday. Black Friday weekend people annoy me and large crowds cause me to mentally shut down.

In addition to the traditional American Thanksgiving dishes, Aunt Genny makes a Polish sauerkraut and sausage dish, I think it’s called Kapusta (sp?). And there will be some other root vegetable dishes from that part of the world, parsnips and such.
We ordered a pre-made Thanksgiving dinner from the local grocery store. Picking it up tonight. We already have paper plates.
Tomorrow, we (wife, kids and I) heat it all up, pig out, throw the plates away and sit on the couch watching football. Best. Thanksgiving. Ever.
Will spend the rest of my weekend going all Clark Griswold and finishing the over-the-top decorations inside and outside.
Going all over the place per my wife’s planning. Morning she works at *bucks so I will be with her drinking free coffee all morning. After that a quick stop at her parents. Dinner with friends at some restaurant in Corning. Some Thursday evening Black Friday shopping. I just want some $11 jeans, berk the rest of it.
At some point I’m back at work at 5 Friday morning.
You'll need to log in to post.
