If I responded to every post where a guy said something this blatantly and foolishly sexist, I'd be The Ultimate Uberdork. :D

You broads need to quit getting so worked up.

Because at 7, they don't know it's sexual assault. They just know it's wrong. Just like what Hitemp did. Was he sexually assaulting that girl in his mind? It would certainly be considered a sexual assault. I didn't say it was OK, I merely suggested that it was not cause to overreact. I don't know how you could read into it otherwise.

I realize you didn't say it was okay. I didn't even say that you suggested that, but you did, in fact, say it was minor. This is not a minor behavior at 7 years old. It's expected that a child knows not to touch other children aggressively or against their will by the age of 4. The fact is that there a lot of statistics that show that this an extremely worrisome behavior.

You may be correct in that the child shouldn't be removed from school. That's a judgement call that is somewhat subjective. There are issues at hand in this situation and until this boy has been brought up to speed on what is or is not okay he shouldn't be around others. He may need much more than an explanation of appropriate interaction, though.

My older co-worker (over 40) always corrects me when I call chicks... chicks. Apparently the appropriate term is broads. For myself personally, its either chicks or girls, 'cause I've met few that I'd ever refer to as "ladies".

Touching a girl's private parts is FAR from minor.

QFT. It's NOT minor. I dealt with the adult aftermath of this. I'm breaking that chain. Nobody will EVER get a chance to do that to MY kid.

What I find disturbing is advise to advise daughter to retatliate with violence. That is the stupidest advice ever the safest way to deal with a bully is outright physical avoidance. I hit a bully back when I was in the eigth grade I ended up being beaten so badly by a group of kids that I was hospitalized while the Bob Costas way out may be to run away it is actually the safest course of action. As for the incident being discussed it is a serious matter and should be dealt with by authority figures at school.
