Photos are too clear. They have to be murky quality, angles that don't show you anything and be of random irrelevant objects.

Seriously though, I really don't see anything wrong with the ad per se. Only thing I can think of is just that the market for Samurais is maybe just not there.

Cool little truck. I don't know the market on those, but I see $5K for 1987 microtruck.

That's what I see as well.

The more specific the market, the longer it will take to sell a good example for top $$$.

If I had $5,000 to spend on a truck, you'd be shortlisted. I see nothing wrong. Maybe better venue? Maybe play with the price a little to appeal to people setting different filters - $4900?

This. I suggest orienting them incorrectly and using your finger to cover your license plate. Maybe pull up a picture of it on your computer and then take a picture of that screen using your phone.

I think you're just selling a vehicle with a very specific market. I had the same deal with a motorcycle, no bites all damn summer but when one of the few people who actually wanted the exact model I had found it he flew up from FL to ride it home.

yeah, small market, maybe try ebay? or something like BAT?

Clean, but expensive. Not too long ago Samuris were something you could get for a few hundred bills.

Be prepared to be patient or lose money or both.

I'm curious: what's your other direction with vehicles?

I bought a 95 M edition miata. It suits my needs better, I.E. i can drive it to work if needed and its more fun imo also the suspension is softer on the miata...

Wrong markert.

I'd list it in Boone, Eastern NC, and the Outer Banks. That will get you some audience in the mountains and the coast.

I'd also list it in Charlotte and Raleigh/ Durham, because they are big. More eyeballs means more exposure.

I'm guessing the price is too high for a play toy for the Asheville market. I am also thinking people see the rust and think there may be more. Try some other venues. I will say it looks nicer than a lot of the Sammies I see for sale around here, which includes Asheville.

I just put it on GSP, Tri-cities and Knoxville CLs. It is listed on Zuwharrie, NC4x4 as well.

Yours is an unusually nice one and I suspect well worth what you're asking to the right buyer but I think that the problem is that you're priced about 2k above what people expect to pay for a Samurai. To get your price you'll need to get better add coverage and probably be patient.

$5k? For a Samurai? It would have to have at least $4k in change behind the rear seat before you'd get that around here.

I agree with others who say you have to spread your exposure out a bit. I see you did, but hit Charlotte and Raleigh Craigslist as well. Fayetteville CL is also good for selling cars, because of Fort Bragg.

Don't forget Expedition portal.

My guess is that you are trying to sell a 1987 Suzuki Samurai only to people who want a Suzuki Samurai. Take some pics that make the truck look fun, in an area other then a parking lot. try to sell it with the pics first - people may not know that the thing is a small "jeep". Don't assume that your only buyer is someone knowledgeable about 1980's mini off roaders. You could get some kids that don't know they want it until they see yours.

take the top off (and maybe doors) and take some pics of that - maybe at a lake or a beach.

take it to a mud hole and get it dirty or take it an drive a wheel up on a rock to show articulation, for some reason there is a subset of people who dig that.

Mention Jeep in the add to pull some other search keywords.

+1 on wrong venue. eBay, BAT, some 4x4 site. CL is the wrong place for a 30 year old, $5k mini off roader that isn't a Jeep.

or make an R/C version of it and take pictures of that?

The ad looks fine. I sold mine some years ago through a 4WD Club, too many flakes on CList.
